A leisurely ride through forest and vineyards
on some of Cape Town's finest wine farms in Constantia. Farms
include Groot Constantia and Constantia Uitsig. The ride starts
just beyond Constantia nek, and is a continuous downhill through
the various estates.
The ride follows paths through the indigenous
forest of the area, and then meanders through the villas and
large estates where you can have your own choice of wines
at the various award winning estates and learn about all the
wines you choose.
We
stop for a picnic lunch along the way amongst the tranquility
and beauty of the wine farms. Your day will end off at Peddlers-on-the-Bend,
a typical Cape restaurant, for a relaxing drink.
After drinks we drive you
back after a relaxing day in Constantia. We also specialise
in bike tours through the Stellenbosh and Franschoek Wine
Areas.

the Constantiaberg Mountains.
Tokai Plantation, the leading trails in
South Africa; it offers jeep track and loads of single track
riding.
Set on the Constantiaberg, Tokai offers
beautiful scenic rides through a nationally protected area.
There is a national downhill course starting at the top of
the mountain to challenge the most experienced riders.
The terrain
is varying, from fairly smooth and hard packed to rocky, making
it ideal for all different abilities of riders, ranging from
the downhill beginners to world class riders.
Tokai Forest is an idyllic setting for
improving riding skills, challenging yourself or just going
for a great ride with the bonus of seeing South Africa's wildlife
and perhaps even cycling through troops of baboons!
So you thought Mountain Biking was all
slog and no fun. No way! Not with the advent of Downhill Mountain
Biking.
Downhill Adventures drives you to the top
of the mighty Table Mountain (just below the cliffs at the
base Cable Station).
We unload high performance mountain bikes
and your ride starts down some of the best trails on the mountain.
An
expert mountain bike Guide will give advice on bike handling
skills before heading off on 2 trails on the slopes of the
mountain.
The first trail is a technical single track,
the second trail is a wide track from Devil's Peak that will
head straight back to our office in Long street. This trail
has some of the most breath taking views of Table Bay, Robben
Island, Lions Head and the city bowl. The only prerequisite
is that you have ridden a bike before. 90% of the ride is
downhill with 10% uphill.

A leisurely Mountain Bike ride through
the most spectacular setting of the Cape Point Nature Reserve.
This is the best way to experience the
unique plant and animal life of this area. Biking allows you
to participate in this experience rather than observe it from
the window of a bus.
This unique mode of transport will allow
close sightings of ostrich, antelope, baboon and mountain
zebra.
The
drive to Cape Point is one of the most scenic in the world,
with some fantastic views of the Indian and Atlantic Oceans,
not to mention the indigenous Fynbos.
Once at the Nature Reserve the bicycles
are unloaded. We have the best bikes in town, each of our
high performance Trek's or Gary Fisher's come with front suspension
standard. Cycling through this area it is an awe inspiring
experience, smell the unique scent of the Protea, get close
to the indigenous animals, feel the sea breeze in your face,
and truly feel alive!
The nature reserve has spectacular costal
views, beautiful indigenous flora, over 1100 different species
of Fynbos and a 300 - 500 meter cliff view from the most southerly
tip of the Cape Peninsula.
After half a days leisurely ride we have
lunch at the beach and take in the vistas. t's moments like
these that have made Cape Point one of the world's most popular
tourist destinations.
On the return journey you will ride along
the Indian Ocean with spectacular views across False Bay,
stopping off at Boulder's Beach, one of the few remaining
African Penguin colonies left on the mainland of Africa.
The return drive
will go through the old Victorian villages of Simon's Town,
Kalk Bay and St. James.

and downhill races; the area provides many trails for these
events. Trails range from jeep track to technical single track
with the terrain similar to that of Tokai Forest, smooth,
and hard packed. Circular routes in Jonkershoek offer exciting
riding and chances of seeing bird life and the exquisite Stellenbosch
countryside with the Stellenbosch Mountain as the backdrop.
